Operator Environment
The Spirit Delta cab gives the operator an efficient and safe place to work from. The cab design is the end result of a major analysis of operators' working conditions. The main objective is to be able to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and large glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is really comfortable and gently rounded. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important information, so as to keep the operator functioning as efficiently as he or she could.
Thanks to the insulated mounting to the chassis, overall noise levels and vibration levels are kept low. The hydraulic controls and the operators' seat are all individually adjustable in order to maintain an optimum working position. Additionally, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 easy to operate, multi-functioned ergonomically positioned levers which are provided for the horn, window washers, gear changing and windscreen wipers.
A ventilation/heating unit guarantees a comfy cab temperature for the operator. The incoming air is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machinery has a robust 3-speed fan for cooling, heating, defrosting and recirculation. As an additional option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all accessible. Basic instrumentation includes: warning lamps, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. In addition, gauges display values for engine coolant, gearbox oil pressure, operating time and fuel quantity.
Among the key options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks can be outfitted with is the ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring. This allows for easy supervision of the unit. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any errors which happen and their current values.
