A forklift to be a successful model must be built strong to last the working environments for numerous hours of use. It must be able to transport cargo quickly and effectively as well. The equipment must be both comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator too.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain needs the power to continually offer great strength through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with robust gears and extremely tough shafts. The drive, steer axle, engine and transmission are all isolated to lessen vibration and noise inside the compartment of the operator.
Mazda and GM Gas & LP Engines:
GM's gas engines and Mazda's LP engine utilize cast iron blocks to promote long life. These equipment provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which needs minimum repair or adjustment. These types of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that reduce wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Both the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engine provide a higher compression ratio leading to better torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by effective fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on nearly all equipment. It features gears that are 15% stronger and shafts which provide resistance when driving on rough environment. The strong clutch packs offer 3 times the life of preceding packs. Last of all, there is electronic inching available that adjusts automatically in order to lessen maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
The Techtronix Transmission uses computer-controlled power reversal to eliminate shock loading, increase durability and extend the life of the tires. As well, the auto deceleration feature reduces both brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is designed for added strength with its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes which are basically maintenance free and completely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to be able to protect the steer cylinder from damage and debris. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Furthermore, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
As part of Yale's regular packages, they have included lots of ergonomic features and safety features. These machines will handle tough environments, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the length of their shift.
