The forks additionally include a hydraulic setup that allows the operator to pick up the load and reposition it over the out-riggers. This particular design not just gives more balance to the whole load, but makes it easier for the reach truck to move between the storage shelves into narrow aisles.



When the selected shelf has been identified, the hydraulic tines swing into action and lower the pallet into the shelving unit, helping to slide the load into place. Normally, a reach truck would easily fit into an aisle which is less than 10 feet across without difficulty, so long as there are no other pallets protruding out from the shelving area.
