Reach Truck
In order to keep storage places tidy and to store supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be utilized. The reach truck is available in several types: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The stand-up is the simplest. The truck forks slide beneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage location. The forks slide the pallet into place. This kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet deep.
Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is similar to the stand-up, is usually utilized. This version consists of telescopic forks intended to put the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet must go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the additional advantage of being able to not just slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units can be accessed in many directions. This particular version is ideal in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Often more than one kind of reach truck is required inside warehouses. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities use different kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and could increase productivity while maximizing available storage space.
